Well if this isn’t the catchiest electro-house song I’ve heard in months then I don’t know what is. Vicetone takes Matthew Koma‘s already undeniably catchy pop single “One Night” and gives it the old electro re-work. Solid remix from the dutch duo.
I feel this post and every one to follow is coming as a necessity. We had a weekly mix that we used to do that we seem to have forgotten about so here I am here to reinstate it. Basically what this will be is a weekly re-cap of all our favorite tracks of the week, of any genre, new releases and the occasional re-discovered gem. This week’s mix will be a collection of tracks from the past couple of weeks. Most noteworthy tracks are the three of my favorite songs off Random Access Memories, Baauer‘s remix of Disclosure‘s “You & Me, ” and this catchy CHVRCHES‘ remix of MS MR‘s track “Hurricane.” So without further ado, I present you Volume I of our Weekly Mix.
Daft Punk - Instant Crush (feat. Julian Casablancas)

I realize we just posted a cover of this last Cover Friday, however, seeing as “Get Lucky” has been by far the biggest track of the past month or so, it shouldn’t be too surprising so many other dope covers/remixes/edits have been surfacing. Although I’m not sure you can call this first one a cover from Vanderway, it’s really more of a remix/edit with added vocals, I’m posting it anyways ’cause it’s that good. Daughter‘s cover has been blowing up since she performed it for BBC Radio 1′s Live Lounge last week. Personally, I’m still not convinced about it but I figured I’d post it anyways. Entirely different than the original (literally the complete opposite of what the song was intended to be) but still retains an endearing quality about it somehow. Listen/download both below.
It’s rainy, it’s cloudy, it’s miserable out, all I wanna do is stay inside and crawl back into bed. It’s been some time since our last Chill Mix and figured today was a perfect day for another follow up. In no particular order, here’s a collection of low-key electronic tracks spanning the past few months or so that I’ve been meaning to share with you all.
Here’s an awesome cover of Daft Punk‘s recently released “Get Lucky” from an old favorite of mine, Sam Sparro. If anyone was to cover this song, I’m happy it was him. One could argue this is an even better version – not what he re-arranged technically on Daft Punk’s part but I personally prefer his vocals over Pharrell’s (no offense P).
So I’ve been rather busy and haven’t been posting as consistently as I would’ve liked, henceforth this little recap post. I’m not gonna go into detail on all the songs featured; everything is just a collection of my pick’s from the past week or so. Most notable are: 1) Lana‘s “Young and Beautiful” off the upcoming Great Gatsby soundtrack 2) New Empire of the Sun!!! 3) Disclosure‘s latest featuring Eliza Doolittle 4) “24k” feat. A$AP Rocky which samples one of my favorite songs of all time 5) TNGHT‘s latest banger, “Acrylics” which I was fortunate enough to see live this past weekend at Coachella, and lastly 6) My favorite song offKid Cudi‘s recently released album Indicud (out now on iTunes) featuring the lovely Haimsisters.
Got a couple new remixes from the remix maestro himself, RAC. He takes Bastille‘s “Laura Palmer” and Capital Cities‘ “Safe And Sound” and gives them the classic RAC treatment. I just love everything this man gets his hands on and this Bastille remix may be my new favorite of the week.
