Meltdown – Heyoka

orange-power-led-inside-caleb-charlandDamn.  Put some head phones on, or blast this on your speakers.  The intro starts with an anomaly of pitch changes that take you to another place, then boom.  The drop hits you with some of the most raw dub i’ve ever heard. The the pitch changes, wubbb. This song is insane; enjoy.

No Diggity 2013 – Extraordinary Magnitude

535573_496423310422397_199182736_nIf you’re looking for some raw funk, you’ve come to the right place.  Gramatik continues to impress, as part of a very cool music project with Eric Mendelson, Drastiq, Buffalo Analog, and Illumntr.  This is Extraordinary Magnitude’s first track together ever, and it comes to us for free off their upcoming album Proportions.  I am digging this track and I hope you do too.

No Diggity 2013 - Extraordinary Magnitude

Extraordinary Magnitude:

Gramatik – Bluestep

cover-41791Oh wow.  To be honest I had never really been a huge fan of Gramatik.  That all changed when I had the pleasure of seeing him live at Snowglobe.  He turned out to be one of my favorite artists who played.  Then he released this song, well it’s actually not technically released; this may be the only place you can find a download until tomorrow, but you guys are worth it. This is the first song of his upcoming album The Age of Reason, and it blew my mind honestly. It was meant to symbolize all things 2012 for Gramatik.  It was a sick year for him, and I think 2013 will be even sicker.  Enjoy this dopeness.

Curren$y – New Jet City

Curreny14

New Jet City is officially one of the best mixtapes i’ve ever heard. Every single track on this tape deserves a listen.  Curren$y is climbing to the top of the rap game track by track.  Flying or fading, Curren$y satisfies.

Curren$y – Choosin’ (feat. Wiz Khalifa & Rick Ross)

Curren$y is absolutely sick.  It seems he can only get better and better.  He’s one of the most consistent rappers out there; in my opinion he’s never produced a bad track.  This song is from his upcoming mixtape New Jet City set to be released Febuary 3rd, which I personally can’t wait for.  This mixtape is set to feature rappers like Trinidad Jame$ and JadakissChoosin’, straight from the mixtape, has an amazing supporting cast of Wiz Khalifa and Rick Ross which already means this song deserves a listen.

Black Hippy – Say Wassup

Each of these thugs above have a post about them: Jay Rock, Ab-Soul, Schoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar. Very good rappers alone, but great rappers together. You could throw a bunch of good rappers together and call it a rap group, but it’s Black Hippy‘s chemistry and similar styles that make this particular group, signed to Top Dawg, different from the rest.  Our philosophy here is quality over quantity, so check this one song out and keep an eye out for these guys individually and as a group.
