Kavinsky vs. Dada Life – Nightcall To Your Boyfriend (Case & Point Mashup)

Nightcall To Your Boyfriend (Case & Point Mashup) - Kavinsky vs. Dada Life

No wait. This right now is exactly what I needed. Case & Point shamelessly mashing Kavinsky, Dada Life, and what is that… Justin Bieber into one massive electro-house mashup guaranteed to get your shi* moving. This track is absolutely massive and a must-have for any good dj’s library. I always hear people talking about the decline of mashups and the focus that upcoming artists have on creating/producing their own sound but I think that something must be said for an artist to be able to mash songs together and create an incredible sound like this one. Case & Point have nailed it. Enjoy!

Blake’s Best of 2012 – My Top Picks

It’s always tough coming up with a list of “Top Songs” of the year, mainly because I find it hard to find what I should base my list off of.  What I finally ended up putting together is essentially a collection of songs that for one, I feel have had a big impact this year and are truly worthy of being on a “Top Songs of 2012″ list, and secondly, are songs that for whatever reason have made it onto my personal “Most Played” list and “Favorites” list, which usually consists of songs that overall just make me happy, songs I like to relax to, songs I like to rage to, and songs that remind me of a time in my life.  A$AP‘s “Goldie” is far and away my favorite track of 2012 (AND IT MUST BEEEEEE) for a number of reasons but mainly because every time I hear it, as soon as I hit play it just puts me and everyone else in the room in a good mood.  In the breakout year of trap music, and in terms of the downright slappers the year has brought out, TNGHT‘s “Higher Ground” is just so badass and so different from anything I’ve heard that it’s gotta be in there.  Anything Lana Del Rey is on my list but if I had to choose, “Born To Die” is my favorite song of her’s this year (not to mention the chillest music video of the year).  Same goes for Frank Ocean.  I loved Channel Orange, but again, if I had to choose, “Lost” would have to be my pick off the album.  The rest are tracks that just stood out for me – whether it be lyrically, just pure catchy-ness of the song, or even more importantly, the memories I’ve made and accompanied with certain songs that now every I hear them, I will be reminded of what I was doing in my life at that certain point in time.  So, after much thought and many hours spent refreshing myself on what the year has produced, here are my official Top Tracks of 2012.  Enjoy.
