I was driving down from New York to North Carolina this weekend and during my 12 hour drive I stumbled upon many forgotten house hits that shuffled their way onto my ipod. I made a memo so I could post a few that I never thought to upload on here for ya, so, enjoy. xo
#1. Such a dope house track, Porter Robinson never fails to excel and Amba has so many great songs that display her vocals. I LOVE this track. Heard it in the city one night and rolled with it on repeat for a long time after the first listen. So glad I refound it this weekend.
Vandalism - Porter Robinson (ft. Amba Shepard)
#2. I didn’t love this track until I found this main mix. This jam is on the newer side and is realll funky. And my girl Polina is doing it bigggg this summer. She’s hands down one of my favorite vocalists in house right now. This is a club jam and the beat is great.
Night Like This - Laidback Luke & Angger Dimas
#3. Obv. we all know and love Morgan Page. This is one of those songs that wasn’t huge when it dropped but I later on learned to love it from playing the album over and over (that kind of thing happens to me with Kaskade a lot too…takes a hot second to appreciate it but you wind up loving even the backburner songs). This sound is very classic Morgan Page and it is worth a listen, I love it.
Loves Mistaken - Morgan Page
#4. This song is nasty, nasty dope. It just drips with sexy vocals and smooth trancelike quality to a great house drop. Comsic Gate never ceases to amaze me and this work is no exception. Very intense baseline with a great build, great vocals and great vibe—so nasty.
Wild and Perfect Day (Cosmic Gate Remix)
#5. Krewella has really grown on me thanks to a lot of the bloggers here on OHD. And to be honest, I’m not really down with the overly “pop”ish singles but this one does it for me. Don’t write it off as pop and girly because of the first minute because it has an amazing beat. I really love this song right now, such a rave jam and I played it multiple times in the car after being reminded of how awesome it is.
Alive - Krewella
#6. Standard Adrian Lux vocals and funk. Love it. Great intensity for a remix and awesome buildup throughout. This shit qualifies for party playlist.
