Come & Get It – Krewella

I’m not very sure how I managed to miss this gem that was released a little over a month ago from on-fire triplet Krewella.  I’ve liked just about everything they’ve put out since their formation about a year ago – and so has the rest of the world. This 2-girl, 1-guy group has literally been slaying the EDM scene with their hard-hitting dubstep tracks and their strong house influenced tracks. My favorite part? All the female vocals. It’s literal perfection. Check out this track Come & Get It and prepare yourself for some epic dub drops and captivating melodies guaranteed to get your dancing feet movin’.

Sicker Than Your Average (Mixtape) – Myn...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Myndset, aka Santa, just dropped this much anticipated mixtape for us just in time for the holidays. The mixtape features an array of 22 of the best thumping tracks from this past year. Myndset took an especially interesting approach on his intro; giving us an inspiring reminder as we start a new year. As Will Smith says it,

“The separation of talent and skill is one of the greatest misunderstood concepts for people who are trying to excel, who have dreams, who want to do things. Talent you have naturally. Skill is only developed by hours and hours and hours of beating on your craft.”

Back to Basics (UNRELEASED) – Lana...

Lana Del Rey, easily my favorite artist of 2012 – featured this unreleased track of hers titled Back to Basics and I’m really enjoying it. Combining her naturally intoxicating vocals with some poppy piano and glitchy bass to create a track unlike anything that I’ve heard out of Del Rey before. Easily the most mainstream-esque track of hers but still stunning. Enjoy this feel good track for your Christmas Eve.

Lana Del Rey – Video Games (Sound ...

To wrap up the year and give thanks to his fans, Sound Remedy tackled Lana Del Rey’s Video Games and created a nice remix out of it. A melodic and ambient remix, Sound Remedy took a much softer approach on this remix than what we are used to with his other work. Enjoy and grab your free download HERE.

Zedd – Clarity (PRFFTT & Svya...

PRFFTT & Svyable teamed up with Ravishouse on this huge remix of Zedd’s Clarity. Among the vast amount Clarity remixes floating around EDM scene, I have to say this is by far one of the best I’ve heard. They completely transformed the track by giving it a much more electro and progressive feel to it. Bump it and Enjoy.

[Hip-Hop] Jay Rock

Jay Rock is a West Coast gangster.  He raps about the hood and does collabs with some big names like The Game.  I’m not a huge fan of his individual music because he can be pretty hard, but I love when he teams up with mellow rappers like Kendrick Lamar.  Below is a fantastic collaboration; Kendrick spits a ill verse in the middle.

[Hip-Hop] Ab-Soul

Pronounced abb like abdominal, not A B, Ab-Soul presents a SICK, kinda dark flow that’s lyrically genius.  Although some songs are dark sounding and the raps are usually very fast, his beats, general attitude, and the things he raps about make Soul’s music perfect for chillin’.  Terrorist Threats has a dope beat and is my favorite song by him.  Illuminate exemplifies a flawless collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.  Waken Baken (Freestyle) shows us his raw talent, and the talks about the right things.  Ab-Soul is a very talented rapper and recently has been one of my favorites.  I hope you enjoy him as much as I do.

[Hip-Hop] Schoolboy Q

Schoolboy Q has a very distinct style; I’ve never heard anyone like him.  He’s got a very nice and jumbled flow: he doesn’t necessarily follow the beat exactly but it still sounds smooth.  Q is very versatile, you could listen to his song when your working out or just chilling.  He deserves more recognition.  The third song below tells when I like to listen to  him.  Before I forget I must give a shoutout to my buddy Sam for showing me There He Go. Enjoy.
