Werk Out (OVERWERK Remix) – J. Col...

[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ell… Damn… This track is fucking HUGE. The first I’ve heard so far of anyone taking J. Cole‘s track Work Out and turning it into one massive electro-moombahton track unlike you’ve ever heard before. You’re not gonna wanna miss this one because OVERWERK has done it yet-a-fucking-gain. For those of you who don’t know and are in the need to know, OVERWERK is 22-year-old producer from Canada, Edmond Huszar whose unique deep synthy wah-wah bass has become his signature. His impeccable ability to morph and remix tracks into something completely unforgettable has skyrocketed him to the forefront of the freshest of the fresh electro-music. Keep an eye out for this fly motherfucker.

PS. If you’re looking to see OVERWERK live and live in the so-cal area you’re in luck. OVERWERK will be playing with The Fat Rat at The Roxy Theatre on June 27. For more information on this show, click HERE

Tuesday Mix-Up #9

Hey my favorite people :) Throwing together some of my favorite tracks and some tracks I feel deserve some recognition – all from the last week together for your ears to enjoy and scrutinize as you may! Hope your week is going well! I believe, just like me, most of you are probably out of school or done with school for the summer (or for life) and are now able to enjoy your time, even if short, as you want to. Got a good collection of tracks here for you today, from trap, to mashups, from pop to house. Enjoy!

1. I was showed this track coming from Disco Fries and Tommie Sunshine from a friend of mine, and to be honest it is one of the best mashup/remixes I have heard in a l0ng time. Let it drrrop around 2 minutes to get it’s full and desired effect.

The One That Got Away [Tommie Sunshine & Disco Fries Remix]

2. Sound Remedy is a fucking unstoppable beast. Week after week he drops dubstep-esque remixes of the hottest tracks and blows everyone the fuck away. This track is no different. Make sure to keep an eye out for his name if you like his style. Unbelievable.. Reaaaally.

Silk (Sound Remedy Remix) – Giselle

3. This track is awesome. It kind of has a drag feel to it, and I really like it. Never thought I would hear a Destiny’s Child track and then LIKE it. But Cyril Hahn does an amazing job pulling you and keeping you there. Only 10 seconds in and I knew it was a must-share.

Say My Name (Cyril Hahn Remix) – Destiny's Child

4. Not too sure where this track came from but I really enjoy how simple the synths and lyrics are. Got stuck in my head right away. I sincerely hope some filthy remixes come out of this shit. Make sure to check Digits on Facebook

Where Do You Belong – Digits

5. Chrome Wolves is notorious for some fulthy synthy dubstep remixes. Love this shit.

Hanging On (Chrome Wolves Bootleg) – Active Child

6. This track from Kiely Rich was probably the one I was most hesitant to share but decided to anyway. Mostly, I was hesitant because it seems kind of rough, but the drop is impressive and if you like progressive house (which I only kind of do) then this is for you.

Wait (Kiely Rich Remix) – Adventure Club

7. Porter Robinson is a monster. This is one hell of mashup (or matchup as he calls it) combining many amazing songs with one of hell of drop. Check ittt

The Seconds The Champ Vandalism Arguru (Porter Matchup)

8. Ok.. You caught me, this track isn’t new in the least. Sometimes I like to throw a little flashback in these mixes from time to time. It’s just sooo good. Ahh, let the nostalgia settle in. MmmMMmMmmm

Chill Mix Vol. II

Wow do we have a lot of catching up to do.  I want to apologize for being so MIA last week, hopefully these next few posts will make up for it.  I thought I’d start off with the second installment of the Chill Mix which is sure to blow your socks off, or actually make you put on another pair because it is that chill(y) [I am a fucking comedian, relax.]  I was pretty happy with the first mix but this next one was always going to be hard to beat.  Besides HOLY OTHER  and Four Tet I’m pretty new to most of these producers.  I’ve been extra down for this new Young Wonder which is probably my favorite out of the songs posted.  I’ve had this whole thing on repeat for about the past week and haven’t posted it but now that I have, it is your turn.  So put your feet up, kick back, and chill out ~ to volume deux.

Sun & Moon (CREAMY COOKIES Bootleg ...

Yes many have remixed this song, but few have done it well like Creamy Cookies. If you haven’t checked out the original, check it out here. Creamy Cookies completely revamped the track by adding a new suspenseful intro, some nice little drops and synths. Bump it, and make sure to show them some love by liking them on facebook and checking out their other tracks on soundcloud.

I also had to include their other hit, Arena Boy, which has been one of my favorite tracks for quite some time now.

Nuclear Seasons (Michael Brun Remix) ...

Hyphy, upbeat, danceable. This track is the perfect ingredient for a full blown dance party. If you haven’t heard of Michael Brun before, he’s known for his collaboration with Special Features titled Synergy and his own Big Jet Plane bootleg. Both of which were instant hits across the blogosphere. This remix is far from anything I’ve heard from him before, and I really like it. Bump it and enjoy it. Cheers.

Need You (Centra 100 BPM Remix) – ...

Yo. So I have been keeping this one hidden in my music library for about six months now. Some of you may already be familiar with this track, Need You by xKore. However I feel like this Centra 100 BPM remix has a much more unique feel to it, and is worth sharing even if it is nothing new. It is a mellow track with enough energy to not put you in relaxed state of mind; Which i like a lot. I’ll let you all be the judges though.

Do it.

This remix has quickly been blowing up across the web these past few hours since it’s release. Adrian Lux and Blende teamed up once again to deliver a quality remix of Lana Del Rey’s Video Games, a song that has been remixed countless times. They really got the synths right on this one– the electro techno synths really go well with Lana’s vocals.

Summer Weekends (Basic Physics Bootleg) ...

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]ey everyone! Now I’m not usually one to go ahead and post bootlegs, but it appears that that is exactly what I’m doing. This is one coming from Basic Physics, who in the past has put out some incredible remixes, mashups and bootlegs. This one is no different! Basic Physics is a 22-year-old producer out of Minneapolis who has been building his name and his content for a couple of years now and has been receiving attention from around the world. This is his single coming up off his soon to be released album! Enjoy.

Dada Life / Kaskade / Chuckie Live sets ...

I will admit that I’m a tad bit bummed that I wasn’t able to make it to EDC. There I was (like many of you), on instagram and facebook throughout the day only to see it flooded with wild pictures of EDC and Las Vegas shenanigans. BUT, you always got to look at the bright side of situations, right? Because of EDC I was able to acquire some great set’s from a few of my favorite DJ’s. Here are my top three:

Photograph by Joseph Krueger

Dada Life. I’ve always wanted to see Dada Life in concert because of their engagement with the crowd, and of course the tracks they play are right up my alley.

Kaskade. He has been my favorite DJ/Producer ever since I first got into the EDM scene. If I could choose to see any DJ in concert, he would be the one. This set is very different than all the other EDC set’s I have listened to. Kaskade plays a lot of tracks that most DJ’s don’t even come close to touching.

Kaskade – Live at Electric Daisy Carnival 2012 Las Vegas 6-8-2012 by Kaskade Music on Mixcloud

Chuckie. I was very impressed when I first listened to his set, mainly because I haven’t heard much from the guy in quite some time. This set is full of energy and some damn good tracks. I now need to see Chuckie live ASAP.

40k Volts (Lenno Remix) – Gracias

As many of you devoted OHD-ers may have noticed, in the past few weeks I have been in this disco dance funk, and I am having a hard time shaking it off. But let’s be real Im not trying to get rid of it. This track mixed by Lenno is the icing on the cake; the cherry on top. Heard it this morning and threw me in the best mood ever. The essential 1970’s jams in this one create an over all good feel. Head on over to Lenno’s facebook, “like” it, and enjoy even more dirty disco beats.

ENJOY.

Coucheron has been a huge hit here on OHD, time and time again. Just released today, Coucheron added a “ElectroFrenchDiscoShit” feel to Leave the Lights on, a song that has been remixed by countless DJ’s. Coucheron’s remix stands out because it keeps the soft, low tempo feel of the song; while most of the other remixes are filled with fast heavy hitting synths. Not saying that’s a bad thing, but it’s nice to have a change :). Enjoy and make sure to show some support by liking his facebook. Cheers.

CRNKN

There is something about Gabriel Baer a.k.a. CRNKN‘s production in every one of his songs that I just keeps me coming back over and over again.  Literally every song of his I’ve heard I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.  He’s predominantly a dubstep producer but also dabbles in trap and the occasional crunkstep tune.  I’m particularly impressed with his The XX remix in which he completely just took to another level.  His “D.A.N.C.E.” remix ain’t to shabby either.  Get familiar/show him some love via the links below.

In case you didn’t know, we have about another week until it’s “officially” summer.  I’ve been coming across so many dope summer jams I almost don’t have enough time to post them all.  Today we’ve got a new one from a guy who has pretty much mastered that summer/tropical vibey sound with Viceroy and his remix of a new favorite indie band of mine, Ghost Beach and their song “Miracle.”  They somewhat recently came out with their self-titled debut album which I definitely suggest you check out (available on iTunes).  I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with Viceroy from our previous posts, if not now’s your chance.  I think this one might be my new favorite of his.

There is something extremely catchy about this one.  This is the first I’ve heard of Bebe Rexha but from the sound of it, it looks like she is definitely someone to keep an ear out for as well as the man behind the production, DJ Ezon.  I haven’t been the hugest house fan recently but “Problem Child,” with it’s Avicii-esque sound (which I think I’ll always have a soft spot for) definitely grabbed me by surprise.
