Lemâitre – Continuum

Wow – LOVING this new Lemâitre.  “Continuum” is their latest single off their upcoming Relativity 3, which I’ve been waiting for for some time now.  I thought their last album was amazing in its own right and really deserved a lot more praise and attention than it got (see Relativity 2).  If you haven’t already heard of them or don’t already know, Lemâitre are an indie-electronic duo from Norway who sound like a combination of Justice, Daft Punk, and Phoenix.  Their music is extremely upbeat and in most instances will leave you immediately wanting to jump out of your seat and start dancing like this.  Look for this one and the rest of the album to be available for download March 4th via iTunes.

Two Door Cinema Club – Next Year (RAC Mix)

I have been a long time admirer of both of these artists, especially Two Door Cinema Club who are one of my favorite indie-pop bands ever and still continue to put out quality music.  RAC as we all know, has firmly established himself as one of the best and most consistent remix artists around, specifically in the indie genre.  “Next Year” is the first song off TDCC’s most recent album, Beaconwhich may be considered their best yet.  Without changing much, André Anjos puts his trademark up-beat electronic spin on this one and as expected, nails it right on the head.

Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing feat Florence Welch vs. Wolfgang Gartner (Disco Fries Bootleg)

sweet nothing florence welch wolfgang gartner disco fries bootleg

You know, we’ve been big fans of Disco Fries for a number of years now and these guys are so incredibly consistent in what they release that it’s remarkably refreshing to be able to come back to their tracks at any point and be nothing but surprised at their work. Amongst all the shit that flies around lately – with focuses on trap, dubstep and all the styles in between its nice to find a group that stays within a genre they know they can absolutely destroy. Thanks to Disco Fries and their version of Calvin Harris‘ Sweet Nothing and forcing it on a blind date with Wolfgang Gartner we can all be happy again. Enjoy this electro-house gem; I know I am.

You know, I’m not the biggest fan of Rihanna to begin with but this bootleg done by Branchez blew me away. Staying true to the originality of the song with Rihanna‘s seductive vocals yet adding in his own hi-hat hits and and beats that make for an absolutely unforgettable mix. I know it will not disappoint. For a free download make sure to visit Branchez on Facebook!

The original of MØ’s “Pilgrim” was featured in our last Indie Mix (listen here) and really deserved its own post.  I have now officially been forced into making one, albeit for the remix MS MR just put out.  I’ve been listening to the original a lot recently and as soon as I heard MS MR got their hands on it I knew it was gonna be amazing.  Their last EP, Candy Bar Creep Show, was one of the most unique styles of a pop record I’ve heard this past year, or any year for that matter.  Dark-pop is the genre I’ve appropriated their sound and to be completely honest, I haven’t heard a lot of bands doing what they’re doing and doing it as well as they’re doing at the moment.  So go scope their last EP if you haven’t already, and get down to their latest remix of “Pilgrim.”  HOLLA HOLLA HOLLA HOLLA HOLLA

Lorde – The Love Club

Hailing from Mt. Eden, New Zealand, 16 year old Lorde is one of the most exciting up and coming female pop artists of 2013.  To me she just seems like she would be the sweetest and genuinely the cutest thing ever, and that’s simply from judging by her voice on her latest EP The Love Club.  The entire album exudes happy, playful vibes and will leave you gleefully bobbing your head the whole way through.  You can download The Love Club in its entirety via her Soundcloud.

Rhye – Open (Ryan Hemsworth Remix)

Besides the significant degree of quality in all his production, the thing I like most about Ryan Hemworth is his musical taste.  He takes songs that I already love, songs most people really wouldn’t think to remix, and complete re-works them into something special EVERY TIME he does it.  His latest piece of excellence is a remix of Rhye’s “Open” – which really should’ve been included my Top Songs of 2012 list.  Rhye’s sultry, Sade-esque vocals seduce me every time I listen to her, usually leaving me crying to myself because I don’t have a pretty woman to make love to every time this song comes on shuffle.  No download available yet, but you can stream the video for it below.
